Summer Fun!

With Fall approaching fast, I thought I'd update the blog with the delicious food that LD grilled over the summer, as well as a one of my dishes, chicken marbella. From ribs, pork butt, filet mignon to grilled shrimp (and everything in between), enjoy the pictures, we sure enjoyed the food.

Big Green Egg! So good!

I had a few photos that I never uploaded to the site, shame on me! These are just a taste of the many things that LD has been cooking since he got the "Big Green Egg". I have to say the food is delicious. Not that it was not wonderful before but the flavors are out of this world! The beef tenderloin is by far the best I have ever eaten, the pork tenderloin is juicy and tender and LD cooked a few cornish hens that were so delicious. I need to post pics next time he smokes a steak. It takes longer to cook but well worth the wait. Enjoy the pictures.

Lovely Duck

We took a little hiatus from the blog with so much going on in our real lives. We celebrated the marriage of LD's Mother last weekend and work has been busier than ever for both of us but we did enjoy some delicious dinners. LD recently purchased the Big Green Egg. I will be posting pictures soon about that but for now I would like to talk about the delicious Valentine's Day duck that LD grilled. He seasoned with his usual Guy's seasoning. They were absolutely amazing. I enjoyed mine with a nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. My after-dinner drink was a lemon martini made with one part limoncello, 2 parts vanilla vodka and a splash of sprite. It was also very pretty!

I'm such a BRAT!

Football season is here and that means it's time for Beer Brats! LD boiled brats in beer, bell pepper and onion for 20 minutes then the they were applewood smoked for an additional 20 minutes with the veggies on top. LD just ate brats and veggies. I had mine on a hoagie. It was so very delicious!

Surf...

Haven't posted in a while but had a great meal last week. LD cooked skewered black tiger prawns on the grill. They were delish. Thinking and talking about them makes me hungry right now :)

Wings and Things...

We've been busy bees this summer and I haven't posted in a while. We just got back from Hawaii a few weeks ago. What a lovely, beautiful trip. I honestly did not want to come back. Ah well, glad to be back now and getting back in the swing of things. LD had a taste for chicken last night and decided to grill chicken wings. The wings were marinated and BBQ was not brushed on until right before they were going on the grill.

Sunday Night Dinner

Last night I made roast beef with potatoes and carrots, served with white rice. It was delicious. The left over sandwiches weren't that bad either!! Yummy :)
